RingCentral - Auto renew contract is a scam

I've been with ringcentral for several years. I need to downgrade service and now I am being told that my contract auto renewed and I am stuck paying for more than I need for another 8 months. BEWARE!!! The service is great and this is completely unexpected for a company that has otherwise been great.

I used this service from 8/2016 and decide to cancel by calling. But Ringcentral said I am in contract until 8/2018. They never sent an advance contact renewal notice by mail or email. This is a scam. Normally every contact is 1 year and after that going to monthly....
